Islamabad: Pakistan is witnessing a significant drop in the daily coronavirus death count for the few days after over a month hike, the health department’s data showed Monday morning.
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 462 persons were tested positive while 6 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,309.
Pakistan imposed new restrictions to curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant, hence, the positivity rate now stands at 1.48%. While the cumulative tally of the country has now climbed to 1,519,154.
As many as 1,470,822 patients have recovered from the disease.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 503,844 in the province with 13,538 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 572,042 in the province, while the death toll has reached 8,091.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 218,180 in the province with 6,301 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 35,438 confirmed cases while 377 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 43,177 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 790. On the other hand, there are 11,636 cases in GB with 191 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 134,837 cases in the capital city while 1,020 people have lost their lives.
