Sheikh Rashid says efforts to strengthen democracy will go in vain if matters escalate

Islamabad: Owing to high political temperature in the country, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Thursday recommended Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to impose governor’s rule in Sindh on Thursday.
Speaking to the journalists, Sheikh Rashid suggested that matters shouldn't be escalated between the government and opposition further, otherwise, all the efforts made to strengthen democracy will go to vain.
He also said that there will be a holiday in Rawalpindi on March 21, adding that the opposition will lose against the government in the ongoing political fight.
He further criticised PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, saying that he has revealed his true face by talking about forming a national government and he will also talk about forming a technocrat government.
On the other hand, MNA member Ramesh Kumar, who is also staying at the Sindh House, had announced that he has parted ways with the PTI.
According to the reports, Kumar has claimed that three federal ministers have quit the ruling PTI. He, however, did not reveal the names of the ministers.
PTI MNAs Malik Nawab Sher said he would not contest the next general elections on a PTI ticket. He also claimed that more than 20 PTI members have been staying in the Sindh House.
Earlier in the day, ahead of no-confidence motion against Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, some hidden angry PTI MNAs on Wednesday surfaced from Sindh House.
It was reported that around 24 disgruntled PTI MNAs are staying Sindh Assembly over security reasons.
In a statement, PTI's disgruntled MNA Raja Riaz said that what happened with JUI-F MNAs at Parliament House, it could be happened with them that is why they have moved to Sindh House. He also claimed that if Prime Minister Imran Khan assures all MNAs that no action will be taken against those who decided to vote against him on the day of the no-confidence motion, they are ready to go back to the Parliament Lodges.
PTI MNAs Malik Nawab Sher Waseer and Riaz claimed that around 24 PTI members have been staying in the Sindh House right now. He further said that many other ministers are ready to come here, however, PML-N is unable to accommodate all the members.
Waseer also said he would not contest the next general elections on a PTI ticket. While Riaz claimed that 24 members are staying in the Sindh House, Hamid Mir said that according to his counting, “20 PTI MNAs are present in Sindh House.”
