The Saudi FM praised Pakistan’s role in Afghanistan.


Rawalpindi: Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al- Saud met with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday.
According to the statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, the situation in the region, particularly in Afghanistan, came under discussion at the meeting. “Both also discussed the promotion of defense ties between the two countries,” reads the statement.
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS said that Pakistan held its historical and brotherly relations with the kingdom in high esteem. “We acknowledge the country’s central role in the Islamic world,” he said, and added for peace and stability in the world, it was imperative that the issues confronting the world were resolved.
The Saudi FM, on the other hand, praised Pakistan’s role in Afghanistan.
He was particularly appreciative of the way the country had managed its border with its neighbor, stretching over thousands of kilometers.
He also appreciated the hospitality offered by the government of Pakistan to the dignitaries visiting the country to attend the foreign minister’s meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad.
