Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has given the green signal to give the post of Punjab Chief Minister to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, GNN reported quoting sources.

In the meantime, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar held a meeting with Pervaiz Elahi along with other members of the party, in a bid to convey an important message from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
During the meeting, political developments in Punjab were the heart of the discussion.
The meeting held at the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Islamabad focused on the current political situation in the country.
Planning Minister Asad Umar, and federal ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema and Moonis Elahi were present.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Foreign Minister Qureshi said the talks were held in a good manner.
Pervaiz Elahi hinted of “progress” on the situation, while Moonis Elahi said the PML-Q had good relations with all sides, both individually and collectively.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to nominate Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the new Chief Minister of Punjab.
In a tweet, he said Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called on Prime Minister in Islamabad and expressed full confidence of his party in the leadership of Imran Khan as Prime Minister.
He said all the issues have been settled with the PML-Q leadership.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar presented his resignation to the Prime Minister in Islamabad.
In another tweet, Farrukh Habib said the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid's support for the prime minister in the no-trust motion has left the opposition in a state of shock.
In Punjab, Opposition members have filed a no confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
The motion was filed by Opposition members Rana Mashood, Samiullah Khan, Mian Naseer amongst others in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat today.
After filing of No Confidence motion, the Chief Minister cannot dissolve the Provincial Assembly, while the Speaker is bound to convene Assembly meeting within fourteen days.
