Three killed as twin-engine plane crashes into Mexican supermarket.
Mexico City: Three people have been killed while three others sustained injuries after a twin-engine plane crashed into a supermarket in Mexico.
As per officials, the three dead were aboard the King Air plane, which has a capacity of about nine passengers.
Following the unfortunate incident, fire service and police along paramedics reached the spot at around 1.15pm (8.15pm UK time).
Two of those injured were reportedly taken to nearby hospitals while others went home after being treated at the site.
The civil defense office in the state of Morelos did not say whether the injured were passengers or people shopping in the store.
Pictures posted online shows the wreckage of the aircraft in the neighbourhood of Azteca, Temixco.
There were fears of an explosion but the Federal Civil Protection has assured the public there is no danger.
Several witnesses stated they saw the small plane having trouble staying in the air, saying the pilot ‘couldn’t control it’.
The aircraft is thought to be a BE9L that had left from the port of Acapulco and was destined for the State of Puebla.
Before the plane crashed, smoke was coming out of one of the engines before it crashed.
