Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met kingmakers after Nawaz Sharif's disqualification, reveals Arif Hameed Bhatti
Lahore: Back in 2017, when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court, PML-N senior leader met some ‘influential’ elements.

Senior journalist Arif Hameed Bhatti while speaking in GNN programme ‘Khabar Hai’ said that when former PM and PML-N supremo was sent home by the supreme court, then Mr Abbasi held several meetings with ‘powerhouses’ and asked them to support him in fetching the Prime Ministership.

“This episode took place when numerous names from PML-N were out for succeeding the then PM,”
While questioning, Mr Bhatti said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi should tell the formula of getting the support of 169 MPs in Senate elections when actually the opposition had only 160 members.

“He should tell whether the support of MPs was gained by offering money,”
PM is being asked by opposition to get rid of those 16 legislators who voted for Yousaf Raza Gillani in Senate elections but on the other hand former PM Gillani has been nominated for the post of Senate chairman— who allegedly became Senator after buying votes.
