Babar Azam has led the Men-in-Green in 40 matches

Lahore: Former Test cricketer Mudassar Nazar has called for a change in Pakistan T20I captaincy to relieve pressure from current skipper Babar Azam.
The prolific run-getter has had great success in the shortest format of the game, where he so far has captained the Men-in-Green in 40 matches – winning 29, losing nine while five ended in no result.
However, speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Nazar claimed that despite a successful run, Babar should not be leading the Pakistan side in T20Is.
“If it was up to me, I would replace Babar with Rizwan for T20Is. Definitely,” Nazar said.
Nazar also said that Azam holds the key for the Men-in-Green in international cricket.
“Pakistan’s main man is Babar Azam and the entire team revolves around him. He takes his time but he takes the match till the very end. He is not Shahid Afridi or David Warner,” he said.
It is worth mentioning here that Babar Azam lead Pakistan to the ICC T20 World Cup semifinal last year. Under his leadership, the Men-in-Green registered a historic 10-wicket win against arch-rivals India in the tournament.
