Jakarta: At least 16 gold miners have been killed and 12 seriously injured after a truck they were travelling in, overturned in Indonesia's West Papua province on Wednesday.
According to details, the ill-fated truck carrying 29 people on a mountain road in Menyambouw district when it skidded and tipped over about 2am.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased and injured to a nearby hospital.
Among the victims, one was a child.
A police officer told local media that failed brakes might have caused the accident.
