PTI's Mazari claims military, not Imran Khan, gave 3 proposals to break political impasse
However, the ISPR DG said on Wednesday that it was in fact the PM's office that had approached the army chief to find a solution to the political deadlock

Islamabad: Former prime minister Imran Khan didn't approach the military to help find a solution to the no-confidence motion-triggered "political deadlock" in the country, former human rights minister and PTI leader Shireen Mazari claimed on Friday.
"Let me be clear -- I am stating on record PM did not call mly for help on "breaking pol deadlock". The mly sought the mtg thru then Def Minister Khattak & they put forward the 3 proposals of either PM resigning or taking part in VNC or fresh elections!," Mazari claimed on Twitter.
She said that was the military that sought the meeting through then defence minister Pervez Khattak, adding that it was the military that put forward the three proposals – of the premier either facing the no-trust vote, resigning from his post or the opposition withdrawing the no-trust move and holding of fresh election thereafter.

Talking to Twitter, the PTI leader questioned: "Why wld IK give option of resigning when he had already stated categorically & repeatedly he wld never resign. Makes no sense! Also IK had categorically rejected VNC as foreign regime change conspiracy. So why wld he suggest these options.Absurd!"
However, ISPR director-general Major General Babar Iftikhar, in a press briefing yesterday, said it was in fact the prime minister's office (PMO) that had approached the army chief to find a solution to the political deadlock.
