Lahore: Governor Punjab Umer Sarfraz Chemma has been removed from post on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Sunday.
As per details, the Punjab Governor has been directed to leave the Governor House instantly. The Premier used his authority to sack the governor.
On the other hand while addressing a press conference, Umer Sarfraz Cheema said that the Prime Minister is not authorized to sack the Governor, adding that he will remain on his seat until President Arif Alvi notify him of his removal. He said that he is suspending the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.
