Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to hold demonstrations outside the commission’s district offices across the country today (Tuesday) against biased attitude of the chief election commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja.
This was stated by former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry on social media on Sunday that the party would protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) offices across the country.
Fawad alleged that Raja had gone to extremes of impartiality and dishonesty, claiming that the ECP was not issuing the notification to unseat the dissident MNAs of the party, following a plan.

In view of the looming protests, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) wrote to the home secretary as well as provincial governments to ensure the security of its offices across.
“In the light of the present polarized situation, foolproof security arrangements for the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan at the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad, his residential apartment in Sector G-5, Islamabad and during his travel outside Islamabad may be made on an immediate basis,” the letter read.
The entrances to the red zone including Islamabad D Chowk, NADRA Chowk have been sealed.
According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, section 144 is in force in the red zone by the district administration.
Moreover authorities have urged political parties and citizens not to protest in the red zone.
The Khan-led party has been accusing the election commission of acting impartially ever since the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the electoral body to wrap up the PTI's foreign funding case within 30 days.
