Process started to bring down inflation: Marriyum Aurangzeb 

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb Wednesday stated that a process has been started to bring down the inflation which had reached an all-time high in the last four years. 

In an official statement today, the federal minister presented two weeks performance of present government, saying what Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has done in this short span of time which former Prime Minister Imran Khan could not even think so in four years.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said the price of sugar has been reduced from eighty-five rupees to seventy rupees per kilogram and ten kg flour bag is now available at four hundred rupees instead of five hundred and fifty rupees.

Information Minister further added the Prime Minister has also directed to end power outages from the 1st of next month. Out of twenty-seven closed power plants, twenty have been made functional in two weeks.

The Information Minister said Islamabad metro bus project which had been facing delay over the last four years was started in four days. Feasibility is being prepared for the extension of metro projects to Bhara Kahu and Rawat. We have also taken the step to establish a metro bus station on the motorway.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the speed of construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam has been accelerated and now a new deadline has been fixed to complete this project by 2026 instead of 2029.

She said groundbreaking of Kuchlar-Khuzdar highway has been performed in Balochistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also announced Pakistan's most advanced technical university for the skill development of the youth of Balochistan. She said the Prime Minister has directed to prepare feasibility for metro bus project in Quetta. She said five hundred thousand poor people of Balochistan will be provided with financial assistance from Benazir Income Support Program.
