'Grammys' : Taylor Swift becomes first woman to win album of the year thrice
American singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift became the first woman to win the award for album of the year three times when as her album “Folklore” triumphed in that marquee category at the ‘Grammy Awards’ on Sunday night.
She previously won the prize for her sophomore album, ‘Fearless’ in 2010 and ‘1989’ in year 2016.
The “Folklore” is her eighth studio album which made Taylor the first woman in history to earn a ‘Grammy for Album of the Year’ for the third time.
The album released amidst quarantine last year and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
She tied Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon as they are the only other musicians to have achieved the honour of bagging the award three times.
The Grammy Award or just Grammy is an award presented by the Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists.
