Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan a ‘Fitnah’ and hinted at his arrest.
In a statement on Sunday, the interior minister said that those who caused a ruckus in Masjid-e-Nabvi would not be spared, adding people were provoked to chant slogans in the Prophet’s Mosque under a plan.
It is to be noted here that a case was registered at Madinah Town police station in Faisalabad against dozens of people over a protest in Masjid-e-Nabvi.
PTI chairman Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid, Shahbaz Gill, Qasim Suri and Ijazul Haq were nominated in the case.
“Workers of a political party chanted slogans against the Pakistani delegation in Masjid-e-Nabvi. Those slogans tarnished the image of Islam in the world,” reads the text of the case.
Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafique has already been arrested from Islamabad Airport.
