Lahore: Prices of essential food items available at the utility stores have been increased with cooking oil going up Rs215 and ghee Rs208 per kg, according to a notification issued by the ministry.
Sources said that this tough decision was taken amid an increase in price of petroleum products.
The move is facing criticism by people who are expressing their rage and demanding the government to withdraw from this order to provide relief to the inflation hit people.
In the past few days, the government has taken a few unpopular and tough decisions which include mounting tariffs of petroleum products as well as different essential items of daily use.
