The budget session has yet to start


Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Monday ordered the provincial minister and PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar to leave the house.
After several hours of delay and negotiations between the government and the opposition, the Punjab Assembly session for the budget began.
The speaker asked, "Who is that stranger?" On which Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din said that Ataullah Tarar is a stranger, he is not a member of the Provincial Assembly, he cannot sit in the House.
The Speaker said Ataullah Tarar would have to leave the House. Speaker Pervez Elahi called the Serjeant-at-arms to get Tarar left the House respectfully.
The treasury members came in front of Ataullah Tarar, a commotion broke out in the Punjab Assembly and opposition members started chanting 'Go Tarar Go'.
On the other hand, Ata Tarar also refused to leave the House on which the Speaker temporarily suspended the proceedings of the House.
Earlier, GNN reported the second round of talks between the Business Advisory Committee failed as soon as it started.
Sources told GNN that the Opposition stuck to its demands while Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz refused to accept the demands of the opposition.
The budget session of the Punjab Assembly had been delayed for over five hours as per the schedule.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and members of the opposition have agreed to accept the demands made before the start of the meeting.
Sabteen Khan, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, said the proceedings of the Assembly could move only after a written agreement, adding the Punjab IGP and Chief Secretary should appear before the special committee.
Speaker Pervaiz Elahi had demanded an apology from the Punjab IG, saying the privilege of the members of assembly had been violated on which IG Punjab has to apologize.
A statement issued by the opposition said that it had prepared a draft based on its demands.
