Moscow: At least two people died and six were injured as an Il-76 transport plane crashed in Russia’s western district of Ryazan early on Friday.
According to Russian media, the collision occurred at 3:18 a.m. Moscow time (0018 GMT), as per the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
When the plane tried to land in Ryazan, a city about 200 kilometres south of Moscow, it crashed and caught fire.
According to the report, the fire was immediately extinguished, and the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.
