Ishaq Dar will take over the reins of the Finance Ministry

Islamabad: Former Finance Minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar will return to Pakistan in the second week of July, GNN reported quoting sources.
According to sources within the party, Dar will be appointed as Finance Minister after taking oath as a Senator.
The post is currently being held by Miftah Ismail who is not a member of Parliament, therefore, he cannot continue in the office for more than six months.
The decision has been taken by the party supremo and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, added sources privy to the matter.
It is pertinent to mention here that the former federal minister has been out of the country since 2017, owing to his medical treatment abroad.
Ishaq left Pakistan four years ago and has since been declared a proclaimed offender in a corruption case filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He is wanted in multiple cases.
