FIA is currently probing a foreign funding case against PTI


Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has written letters to 7 countries for legal assistance in a foreign funding case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to FIA officials, the letter was written for mutual legal assistance, seeking information through the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU) for global assistance.
FIA officials said letters were written to Australia and Canada for information on companies based there, while Singapore was asked for detailed information on Nasir Aziz and Romita Shetty.
A letter to Switzerland inquired about E-Planet Trustees, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was requested to provide information of Bristol Engineering and California-based Corporation.
FIA officials said the letter was written to the United Arab Emirates for Wootton Cricket Club and Abraaj Group, and to the US for a Texas-based corporation and firm.
