Islamabad: Prime minister Imran Khan Monday has decided to remove Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as Federal Finance minister.

According to GNN, Federal Minister Hammad Azhar would be appointed as a replacement for Hafeez Shaikh.

Hammad Azhar is currently holding the portfolio of Federal Minister of Industries and Production since 6 April 2020.
Further, Prime Minister Imran Khan has also decided to reshuffle the federal cabinet. Portfolios of several ministers would be changed while new members to be also included in the cabinet.
The move will be one of the several reshuffles that the PTI government has done since it came into power.
Federal Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz while talking to GNN said that the Prime Minister has announced the formation of a new economic team, in which it has been decided to make Hamad Azhar the Finance Minister however Hafeez Sheikh has been removed due to high prices.
Minister further said that the Prime Minister has announced to form a new economic team. Decisions are taken keeping in view the ground realities whereas, by tomorrow, everything will be final.
Whereas, Hammad Azhar while tweeting thanked PM Imran Khan for his trust wrote: 'I am honoured to be entrusted with the additional charge of Finance by the Prime Minister,'
