Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will appear in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today for hearing the contempt of court case.

As per details, a five-judge larger bench will resume hearing against former prime minister Imran Khan over contempt of court case, while, for the third time, Khan avoided tendering an unconditional apology as he submitted his response to the court.

Yesterday, the High Court approved Imran Khan’s interim bail till October 7 after he submitted an affidavit in the contempt of court case.

In the affidavit, Khan swore to “adhere to what he said in the court during the last hearing”.

The cricketer-turned politician was directed to submit 10,000 bonds as well.

It comes after an arrest warrant was issued for the former Prime Minister in connection with his controversial remarks against Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Zeba Chaudhry and other officials during one of his public rallies.

In the last hearing on September 22, Khan surprisingly apologised before the IHC and assured the court that he would not issue such a statement in future.

Contempt of Court Case

While addressing a rally at Islamabad's F-9 park, Imran Khan alleged that Judge Zeba Chaudhry knew that incarcerated party leader Shahbaz Gill was tortured, but she did not release him on bail.

Khan had then said she [the judge] should brace herself for 'consequences'.

The PTI leader also threatened to take action against the Islamabad IG and DIG police.

Following this Pakistan's federal minister for information and broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the coalition government is least interested in "wasting time" by putting cricketer-turned politician behind the bars, for threatening the judiciary and a top cop as authorities step up probe after the Imran Khan's remarks on judiciary, Election Commission and the government.
