Karachi police arrest two suspects after 2 mobile company workers lynched in Machhar Colony
Police say the victims came under public attack after some miscreants dubbed them as kidnappers

Karachi: Police arrested two suspects after a mob lynched two employees of a cellular company on Friday in Karachi’s Machhar Colony over rumours that they were kidnappers.
Keamari police said the deceased were visiting Machhar Colony, apparently, to check antenna and signals.
As soon the company's employees carrying equipment entered and moved in the area in their vehcile, some miscreants spread rumours that they were kidnappers and roaming the area with devices to kidnap children.
Subsequently, a mob appeared to be in dozens gathered in the area and began thrashing them with stones and other hard and blunt objects.
A police team, which was already in the area to provide security to a polio team, rushed to the spot within 10 to15 minutes of receiving information about the incident. Officials resorted to aerial firing to disperse the mob. However, the two men had suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
Police later arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the crime and identified eight others with help of videos and witnesses.
According to a police statement, South Deputy Inspector General of Police Irfan Ali Baloch took notice of the incident and directed the Keamari SSP to personally conduct an inquiry into it.
The statement said the preliminary inquiry report identified the deceased as employees of a cellular company.
