China terms cooperative strategic partnership with Pakistan ‘very significant’

Islamabad: China says it attaches great importance to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s two-day official visit to Beijing.
Responding to a question during his briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said during the visit, leaders of the two countries had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international situation.
He said in the face of endless global challenges, the cooperative strategic partnership between China and Pakistan is of great significance.
The spokesperson said during Shehbaz Sharif's visit, the two sides reaffirmed their mutual support on issues involving each other’s core interests.
He said they agreed to share development opportunities and promote construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor more efficiently.
Zhao Lijian said Pakistan has responded positively to the global development initiative and global security initiative put forward by China.
He said the two sides will try to implement the initiatives and actively contribute to promotion of global governance.
