Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has reacted to the decision of Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan to hold re-polling in National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-75 Daska.

Taking to twitter, Maryam Nawaz wrote that it has been proven today that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government had stolen the votes of Daska people.
“Re-polling alone will not work as these corrupt elements also need to be held accountable for kidnapping the staff of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP),” she wrote.

Maryam Nawaz also congratulated her party workers and NA-75 candidate Nosheen Iftekhar for bravely fighting these ‘thieves’.

Earlier today, the Supreme of Pakistan (SCP) upheld the order of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of re-polling in NA-75 Daska after rejecting the petition filed by ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
A three-judge bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial announced the reserved verdict regarding re-polls in Punjab’s Daska constituency saying that the voting will be conducted on April 10.
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had challenged decision of top electoral body regarding re-polling in NA-75 in the top court. The petition was moved by PTI candidate from Daska Ali Asjad Malhi.
It is pertinent here to mention that on February 25 the Election Commission of Pakistan had ordered fresh polls for Daska NA-75 constituency on March 18 after nullifying the by-elections.
Announcing the verdict, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja stated that the by-elections in the constituency were not conducted in a fair and transparent manner and law, while law and order situation was also disrupted.
On March 10, the Election Commission of Pakistan changed the date of NA-75 Daska by-election to April 10.
