The local currency closed at 221.64

Karachi: After three-day appreciation, the Pakisani rupee lost 23 paisa or 0.1 per cent against the US dollar on Friday.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the dollar gained 23 paisa to close at Rs221.64 against previous close of Rs221.42 on Thursday.

In the open market, the greenback traded in Rs227.75 with no change.
The dollar remained in demand for import payments, which weighed on the local currency.
