Four matches to be played in FIFA World Cup 2022 today
Action is underway as 32 teams vie for the coveted World Cup trophy.
Doha: Four matches are to be played in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar on Wednesday (today).
In Group F, Morocco will take on Croatia at the Al Bayt stadium. The 2018 runner-up, Croatia has won its last five matches and lost once in 16 months.
Morocco meanwhile, head into the tournament on a five-match unbeaten streak.
In Group E, Germany will play against Japan at 06:00 pm at the Khalifa International Stadium today while Spain will face Costa Rica at 09:00 pm.
Four-time World Cup champion Germany is expected by numerous fans to win this one too. On the other hand, Japan has never won a FIFA tournament.
Spain’s squad will begin being put to the test against an experienced Costa Rica team that is bringing back some of the players that helped it make a surprising run to the quarterfinals eight years ago.
Belgium and Canada will lock horns as they start their tournament campaign at the Ahmed Bin Ali stadium.
For Belgium, this represents the final chance for a lot of their ‘Golden Generation’ to win a major tournament. On the other hand, Canadians are led by a new generation.

In yesterday's match, Saudi Arabia which is the second-lowest ranked team in the tournament after Ghana won by 2-1, the kingdom's historic win against Lionel Messi-led Argentina at FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Following the unexpected victory, the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud declared a public holiday in celebration.
