‘C- class’— where there is insufficient evidence or the matter was non-cognizable.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati has been shifted to Islamabad on Thursday after his cases in Sindh were categorized as ‘C- class’— where there is insufficient evidence or the matter was non-cognizable.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed police authorities to not file more First Information Reports (FIRs) against PTI Senator Azam Swati over controversial tweets.
As per media reports, a two-member SHC bench headed by Justice Arshad Hussain Khan and Justice KK Agha, was informed by Sindh prosecutor general that all cases registered against the politician were ‘disposed of’.
Faiz Shah, the Sindh Prosecutor General, stated that all FIRs against Swati has been nullified, informing the court that lack of evidence has led to the quashing of all cases.
During today’s hearing, Sindh Police Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon apprised the court that all cases against Swati had been quashed; apologizing for his behavior during last proceeding.
On November 27, Azam Swati was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a case related to controversial tweets against top military officials.
The 74-year-old politician for the second time in less than two months as he secured post-arrest bail in controversial tweets case from a court in the capital city last month. Cases had been registered against him in Balochistan too.
The arrest came after the FIA booked him in a case registered under Section 20 of the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act 2016 (Peca).
