Pakistan’s first-ever home whitewash as England secure historic 3-0 sweep

Karachi: England defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the third and final test in Karachi on Tuesday (today), wrapping up a stunning 3-0 series whitewash over green shirts.

England completed a historic 3-0 clean sweep over Pakistan inside 40 minutes, needing less than 12 overs on day four to complete a brilliant eight-wicket.

Ben Duckett (82 not out) top-scored for England in their chase of 167. Needing 55 more runs, the tourists took only 11.1 overs to reach their target.

Before this tour, England had managed only two Test wins away to Pakistan in 30 attempts across 61 years.

They have now won three in three weeks.

It is pertinent to mention that this is only the fourth time in history that England have taken a clean sweep in an away series of three Tests or more.

The Babar Azam-led team have run into an England side in fine form, thriving with an aggressive approach that has earned them eight wins from their past nine Tests.

On their first Test tour of Pakistan since 2005, England won the first match by 74 runs in Rawalpindi before pulling off a tough 26-run win in the second that finished in Multan.

In today's Test, England lost the toss on a pitch more suited to spin bowling, however, the visitors finished the day at 112-2, scoring 6.58 runs per over.
