The move to dissolve KP Assembly came after Punjab Assembly was dissolved as per the policy of the PTI and its chief Imran Khan.
The PTI Chief had earlier announced dissolution of Punjab and KPK assemblies last year in November. His plans, however, got delayed due to different factors and moves by the coalition partners in the federal government.
Earlier in the day, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignation of 35 PTI MNAs. The NA Speaker also accepted the resignation of AML Chief Sheikh Rashid.
Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Pervez Khattak, Ali Amin Gandapur, Murad Saeed, Shehryar Khan Afridi, and Imran Khattak were among the lawmakers whose resignations have been accepted. The speaker also accepted the resignation tendered by Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid.
