Guwahati: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists barged into a movie theatre in Gujarat and tore posters of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Pathaan" amid widespread protests against the film.
According to detail, the Bajrang Dal activists invaded the Gold Cinema at LG Tower in Narengi on Friday night to demonstrate against the movie that is set to come out next week.
The movie poster was torn down by the activists, who then set it ablaze. Several protesters even made their way into the theatre and removed further posters.
While destroying the posters, the protesters can be heard yelling ‘Jai Shree Ram’ slogans, in widely shared videos.
Pathaan will hit theaters on January 25. As the release date nears, protests against it seem to be intensifying.
The Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Pathaan' has whipped up a massive storm.
The boycott brigade has upped its ante against the film. They say it is not just an affront to religious identities and ideologies but reflects a contaminated mindset.
