Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 5,329 new Covid-19 cases and 98 deaths, with authorities linking the uptick in numbers to the third wave of the deadly outbreak across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,329 cases of coronavirus were reported while 98 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 15,124.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 705516.
As many as 623,399 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,942 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 240,584 in the province with 6,793 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 267,612 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,520.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 94,880 in the province with 2,512 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 19,999 confirmed cases while 212 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 13,873 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 386. On the other hand, there are 5,070 cases in GB with 103 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 63,499 cases in the capital city while 591 people have lost their lives.
