Hafizabad: A school in Vanike Tarar, Hafizabad, subdivision of Punjab district has been closed down on Friday after six female students tested positive for coronavirus. GNN reported.

According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority, the Government Higher Secondary School has been sealed due to emergence of Covid-19 cases amidst rising second wave of coronavirus in the province.
"Students diagnosed with novel coronavirus have been advised to quarantine themselves on the recommendation of Health Department," officials added.
Moreover, the health authorities has taken samples to conduct swab tests on other female students and teaching staff.
On the other hand, smart lock down has been imposed in three villages of Hafizabad.
Earlier, Federal Education Minister, Shafqat Mahmood announced phase-vise opening of educational institutes from January18 resuming classes from one to eight on January 25 while all higher educational institutions would resume from February 01.
