10 children killed as boat capsizes in Kohat
The kids were aged between seven and 12.
Kohat: In an unfortunate incident, at least 10 children were killed and six sustained the injuries when a boat carrying Madrassa students capsized in the Tanda dam in Kohat on Sunday.
The deputy commissioner (DC) of Kohat district Furqan Khan stated that the injured kids were shifted to the hospital, adding that most of the students were missing.
While sharing the news with international media, the DC said that the victims were aged between seven and 12.
“There had been such incidents in the past and the authorities had closed the dam for recreational activities,” Furqan added.
Rescuers said that at least 30 people including children were on the boat at the time of the incident.
