Karachi: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has restrained its captains and cabin crew from fasting during flights.

Local media reported that the administration of national carrier has issued a safety alert in connection with the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan according to which pilots and cabin crew have been prohibited from fasting during flights.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of passengers.
“Majority of the Muslim countries’ airlines captains and crew members are not allowed to fast during flight”, the alert read.
Speaking on this, the spokesperson of PIA said that a mechanism is being evolved to ensure no flight operations takes place during Sehri and Iftari timings.
PIA has said that the decision in is the best interest of its passengers, captains and cabin crew.
