North Waziristan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) thwarted terrorist attack in North Waziristan as three terrorists were being transferred from Miran Shah to Bannu between Monday and Tuesday night, CTD spokesperson told.
The CTD team was attacked by terrorists on Mir Ali Bypass and in the exchange of fire three accused were killed while four attackers were also killed.
According to the CTD, some of the assailants managed to escape in the dark of night, and the search operation is on to find them out.
The dead terrorists are said to be related to the outlawed TTP. They are also said to be involved in target killings and attacks on police and security forces.
After the suicide attack on the Police Lines Mosque in Peshawar, terrorist attacks have increased in various areas of KP, however, the police and CTD are also responding in a very active manner.
Yesterday, an official was injured in an attack by terrorists on the Khati check-post in Dera Ismail Khan District of KP.
Apart from this, police had foiled an attack by armed terrorists on a police station in Lakki Marwat.
