Multan: Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has no threat from Jahangir Tareen.

While taking to media in Multan, the PTI leader said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has an ideology and he is standing firm on his stance.
“All provincial and national assembly members are bound to follow Imran Khan’s decision. If Jahangir Tareen has any concerns, he should go meet the Prime Minister himself, as his door is always open and he never resorts to revenge politics,” he said.
Shah Mehmood further said that there is a total of 17 sugar mills who have been served with notices, and Jahangir Tareen is not the only one.
“The courts are open for everyone. They should present their stance in court, if they are un-corrupt, justice will be served. Eradication corruption is the agenda of PTI government. No member of our party is going into any other political party,” he said adding that he left Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) over difference of opinion.
The FM further said that inflation is the biggest challenge government is facing.
“PM takes briefing every week over the situation of inflation in the country. the government has decided to convert Ramzan Bazaar to Sahulat Bazaar. Pakistan’s rupee has stabilized now which would impact the prices of imported products,” he added.
Earlier, PTI leader Jahangir Tareen had announced that he had not parted ways with the ruling party.
“I have worked for PTI for straight ten years. There are some people who are conspiring against me. I was a friend, why are you pushing towards enmity,” he had asked without naming Prime Minister Imran Khan.
PTI leader further stated that his loyalty is being tested.
“A total of three FIRs have been registered against me and my son. My bank accounts have also been frozen.
“Why are there only FIRs against me? We demand justice from PTI. Imran Khan should expose those who are taking political revenge,” he said.
FIA registers cases against Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen
On March 31, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered two cases against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen and his son over Rs. 3 billion financial embezzlement and their involvement in sugar scandal.
According to the FIA, Former Secretary Agriculture Rana Naseem was the patron of the sugar mill mafia scandal, for which his name is also included in the registered case.
The second case includes the names of Jahangir Tareen, his son Ali Tareen and two daughters.
FIA has detected that Jahangir Tareen transferred Rs 3 billion from his son-in-law's unfunctional paper factory, JDW which was later transferred to the accounts of Tareen family.
The PTI leader’s factory has 26% public shareholders.
According to sources, the FIA will record their statements in person before reaching a decision based on evidence whether to arrest them or not.
Earlier the FIA lodged a case over sugar scam under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating of public shareholders) and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code and r/w 3/4 of Anti Money Laundering Act.
