Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi Thursday gave accent to the Finance (Supplementary) bill 2023.
The president gave the approval to the bill in accordance with Article 75 of the Constitution, the media wing of the President House said.
It is pertinent to note that the financial legislation was passed by majority opinion in the presence of opposition members, which was presented by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and passed on Monday evening in the National Assembly.
The bill includes new taxes worth R 170 billion to revive the stalled International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout program. It needs to be converted into a finance act as soon as possible.
