Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Asia Cup 2022 scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka has been postponed.

According to the reports, the PCB spokesperson said that Asia Cup has been postponed till 2022 after which the cricket-lovers will not be able to watch the Pak-India match this year.
It may be recalled that earlier the Asia Cup was supposed to be held last year—2020 but due to coronavirus it was postponed till 2021 but now it has been deferred again till next year.
It should be noted that in February this year, the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani said that it seems that the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka will not be held, it may have to be postponed until 2023.
He said that the final of the ICC Test Championship will be played in June and the Pakistan cricket team will visit Zimbabwe after South Africa tour, due to which it seems that there will be no Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
A statement issued by Asian Cricket Council said, “It may also be noted that the hosts for the Asia Cup 2020, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has exchanged hosting rights for the tournament with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). Through this arrangement, the SLC will now host the rescheduled Asia Cup expected in June 2021 while the PCB will host the Asia Cup 2022.”
