Lahore: Pakistani wrestler Inam Butt continues to make his country proud as he bagged a bronze medal in the Asian Olympic qualifying round after defeating a Kyrgyz wrestler in the 97kg category.

Mohammad Inam’s win couldn’t progress Pakistan to Tokyo Olympics but still made history as Pakistan crowned its first ever bronze medal in Asian Olympic Qualifying round.
The wrestler turned to twitter and wrote, “ALHAMDULILA , 1st ever bronze medal in " ASIAN OLYMPIC QUALIFYING " round and created history of #Pakistan #almaty”.

It is pertinent to mention here that Tokyo Olympics was postponed last year due to rising trend of novel coronavirus and will be held from July 23 to August 08.
Moreover, Inam Butt is the only Pakistani to compete in the ANOC World Beach Games in Doha and won a gold medal for the country.
In 2010, he won gold medal in Commonwealth Games. He claimed bronze at the 2014 Asian Beach Games, gold medals at the 2016 South Asian Games and 2016 Asian Beach Games.
The athlete won silver at the 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, gold at the 2017 World Beach Wrestling Championships.
While making a record he won silver medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, gold medal at the 2018 World Beach Wrestling Championships and silver medal at the 2019 World Beach Wrestling Championship.
