The sultans could make only 159 runs while chasing the target of 181 set by the Qalandars in tonight clash at Gaddafi Stadium.
Lahore: Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 21 runs in a thrilling match at Gaddafi Stadium tonight.
The sultans could make only 159 runs while chasing the target of 181 set by the Qalandars. Sultans were were not in the right frame from the beginning, too many extras, too many misfields, sluggish approach while chasing, lack of intent.
Earlier, the Qalandars’ batters faced trouble in the first over as Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion with zero run. Ihsanullah took the wicket of Mirza Tahir Baig and broke the partnership between him and Abdullah. He could score 17 for 11.
Later, Shafique and Sam Billings took a stand but their partnership of 69-run could not continue for long. Billings, who looked set for a big one, was caught in front of the stumps after misjudging a delivery by Pollard. He scored 54 runs in 35 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes.
Stellar hit from @sambillings! ?
