The ECC directed Ministry of National Food Security and Research to form a committee to review the proper wheat usage, wheat storage mechanism and silos in the country and present its findings to the ECC within fifteen days.


Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved to assign wheat procurement target of 1.80 million metric tonnes at the rate of 3,900 rupees per 40 kilograms for the year 2023.
The decision to this effect was made in the meeting of the ECC, which was held in Islamabad today with Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in the chair.
The ECC directed Ministry of National Food Security and Research to form a committee to review the proper wheat usage, wheat storage mechanism and silos in the country and present its findings to the ECC within fifteen days.
The ECC also considered a summary of Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and granted Technical Supplementary Grant of 10 million rupees for medical treatment of former World Squash Champion, Jan Sher Khan, who has been diagnosed with multiple health issues.
