More than five hundred professional and amateur athletes from across Punjab participated in the mini marathon held to celebrate Pakistan Day.


Syed Wala: Professional athlete Sohail Amir won the Sandal Bar Tazz Raftar Jawan Race held in Syed Wala area of Nankana Sahib district on Monday.
Defending champion Mohammad Osama stood second while Waqas Ali won the third position in the race. The race covering 2km distance took place on Monday while Chaudhry Nazir Hussain Gujjar, who distributed cash prizes among the players, organized it.
More than five hundred professional and amateur athletes from across Punjab participated in the mini marathon held to celebrate Pakistan Day. A large number of fans were also present, with motorcycle prizes kept for them.
On behalf of sports lovers, Chaudhry Nazir Hussain Gujjar awarded the winning athlete Sohail Amir with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 300,000. The second and third runners-up received Rs. 150,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively. Mr. Yele, who came specially from America, appreciated the organization of the event and praised the performance of the players.
Chaudhry Nazir Gujjar, who was the chief guest and organizer of the closing ceremony, expressed his hope that the athletes of Pakistan would win marathons around the world and bring fame to the country.
