LWMC fines people for dumping garbage at public places
It also stated that 3.95 million fines were imposed for violation of the Local Government Act.
Lahore: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) issued last month’s performance report regarding the action taken against garbage dumpers in Lahore.
According to the report, 143 people were fined with an amount of Rs1000 rupees per person for throwing garbage and more than 12,700 places were investigated in this regard in March.
The report tells that 16 illegal dumping vehicles were taken into custody, 1814 fines were issued for throwing garbage on the roads and setting fires.
It also stated that 3.95 million fines were imposed for violation of the Local Government Act.
According to the report, more than 1,950 warning notices have been issued for minor violations.
