Saudi Arabia gifts 100 tonnes of dates to Pakistan
Islamabad: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided 100 tonnes of dates to the Government of Pakistan as a gift on the arrival of Holy month of Ramazan.
Local media reported that Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan and Dr. Muhammad Khalid Usmani, Director King Suleman Relief Centre, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, handed over the consignment to the Cabinet Division in Islamabad.
The dates were received by secretary Cabinet Division on behalf of Government of Pakistan who further expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the gift.
The secretary conveyed warm sentiments and hoped that the warm and cordial relations between the two states will continue to flourish.
After a period of strained relations, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are once again mending the old ties. The Kingdom has withdrawn its threat to withdraw $3 billion dollars of deposits and Pakistan paying back $2 billion dollars loan.
Pakistan also extended support for Saudi leadership following the release of a U.S. intelligence report on Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Later, Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman held a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Imran Khan and invited him to Riyadh.
