Pakistan reports over 5,300 cases in single day as COVID-19 third wave intensifies
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 5,395 Covid-19 cases and 118 deaths in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,395 cases of coronavirus were reported while 118 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 15,872.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 739,818.
As many as 646,652 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,276 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 258,441 in the province with 7,209 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 270,310 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,533.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 102, 290 in the province with 2,761 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 20,580 confirmed cases while 221 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 14,978 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 420. On the other hand, there are 5,153 cases in GB with 103 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 68,066 cases in the capital city while 625 people have lost their lives.
