‘I was in wheelchair for six months’: Aima Baig
The singer said: “I was suffering from a serious disease called arthritis".


Karachi: Renowned Pakistani singer Aima Baig revealed that four years back she got into a disease called arthritis owing to which she was left in a wheelchair for six months and underwent chemotherapy.
Talkng in a YouTube podcast, Aima revealed and said that she had not talked about it before at all, but now that she has fully recovered, she's sharing it.
The host asked Baig that why were you casted in the movie ‘Barhavan Khiladi’ (12th player), although you did not want to do it?
“My condition was very alarming in those days when I was being casted for the movie. I shared my condition with Mahira Khan who understood,” she responding.
The singer said: “I was suffering from a serious disease called arthritis during those days due to which my bones became inflamed and walking was also impossible for me”.
Aima Baig said regarding the illness that four years ago she was on a wheelchair for six months and during that time she also visited Punjab.
She added that all the bones, including the joints were immensely inflamed. At that time her one shoe size was 37 and the other was 38.
Singer added, “I could not even lift a glass near me, my hair started falling out, I started gaining weight because I used to take 12 pills every morning”.
Aima Baig said that a doctor from New York gave her some injections after which she was able to get up from the wheelchair.
