Imran Khan makes conditional offers to PDM for talks on election
The PTI Chief asks the coalition partners to dissolve the assemblies first in May and then come and talk about the elections.
Lahore: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that all parties including Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had said that they would topple their governments and hold elections, but now they were running away after they dissolved their assemblies.
Imran Khan said that if these people [ruling partners] had any proposal, they should present it and they would talk about it.
“If they say that the elections should be held in October, they will make an excuse again at that time. They want us to trap. We will talk about the suggestion of holding general elections in June or July. Dissolve the assemblies in May, bring a neutral caretaker government and then we can talk,”.
“These people are using delaying tactics to somehow cross May 14, despite the Supreme Court's clear statement that the elections will be held on May 14. We will not let them escape and we stand with the decision of the Supreme Court,” he added.
Khan said the ruling partners had believed they [PTI leaders] would become incompetent in prohibited funding.
“Now they want I should be declared disqualified in the Tohekhana case. The Tohekhana case should be heard openly so that the truth would be before everyone,” said Imran Khan while talking to a local private TV.
The PTI Chief said Nawaz Sharif was guaranteed that Imran Khan and PTI would be finished by fabricated and false cases and that the PTI leaders would be put into jail. It was London plan. He stated that Nawaz Sharif is a criminal who committed billions of theft and even his children fled the country. Asif Zardari and Maryam Nawaz also stolen cars from Thoshakhana.
He stated that the government would use delaying tactics in the elections by dragging negotiations. The current caretaker government's term expired, and their actions were now illegal. He stated that Tehreek-e-Insaf was preparing the election , and the entire nation was standing with the constitution, law, and judiciary. Imran said that the mandate was not given to Assad Qaiser to hold talks, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was tasked to talk to them [PDM], and no one contacted him yet.
Imran Khan said, "if we want to fix Pakistan, we have to stand everyone in front of the law. I don't want revenge, I just want the supremacy of the law. The supremacy of the law does not mean that we will take revenge from anyone. He gave an oath of assurance that he would appear in court and yet he was attacked. My house was stormed, I can forgive that, but how can I forgive the murder of Zil-e-Shah and violence against workers?,".
Khan pointed out that a Middle Eastern leader told him that Qamar Javed Bajwa was not with him while an IB also informed him that they wanted to bring Shehbaz Sharif.
“Bajwa was asked directly if you are not thinking about Shehbaz Sharif, he said it can't happen, Sharifs are my biggest enemies. Bajwa was told that there are corruption cases worth 17 billion rupees against Shehbaz Sharif,” he said.
He also said that it became clear later that Qamar Javed Bajwa had been lying to them [Imran Khan].
Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan said that there was a 20-day deadline in the Long March, which was delayed.
“Look at the extent of their malice, I was giving them time and they were raiding my house. These people were not sincere, which is why we announced the Long March. If there are more challenges in life, then abilities are revealed. PTI is facing violations of human rights,” said Imran.
Talking about inflation, the PTI chairman said that the inflation rate reached the highest level in a year, where was Pakistan a year ago and where it was today.
"We are fully preparing for the elections, we have finalized the names for tickets and have started the election campaign since last night. If they go to Punjab, they will know why people hate them. PML-N have fallen apart. Their history is that they buy or blackmail people, record audios, and then leak them. Maryam Nawaz herself said that she has made videos. These people are constantly trying to put pressure on the judiciary. Audio recording is a violation of basic human rights."
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan also said that the Constitution stated that if the assemblies are dissolved, elections must be held within 90 days. When the Supreme Court rejected Qasim Suri's role through a suo moto, the judiciary was being praised. Now, the suo moto of the Supreme Court is causing them trouble.
“For us, the courts used to be open until midnight and we never refused their decisions,” he added.
