Sindh govt declares public holiday on May 1
“Corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Government of Sindh, except essential services,” read the notification.
Karachi: Government of Sindh Thursday announced public holiday on May 1 (Monday) on the account of Laborers’ Day.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh chief secretary stated that all state offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies will remain closed on May 1.
“Corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Government of Sindh, except essential services,” read the notification.
On the day, different events will be organized in Pakistan and around the world to remember the sacrifices of Chicago workers. The object to celebrate the day is to take steps for providing job security to laborers and industrial workers against any exploitation.
