Various major operations including cardiac surgery, kidney dialysis and cancer will not be covered on the health facility card.

Peshawar: Health department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that insurance company has stopped facilitating people for major operations using the health card due to non-funding by the caretaker provincial government.
According to the health department, various major operations including cardiac surgery, kidney dialysis and cancer will not be covered on the health facility card.
The department said that insurance company has sent a letter to the hospitals and all District Medical Officer (DMOs) included in the health card panel stating that all the panel hospitals should stop taking admissions under the health card plus program from May 9.
On the other hand, it is reported that former provincial minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra criticized that after every few days the health card is suspended which highlights the incompetence of Pakistan Democratic (PDM) government.
