PPP candidate secured victory in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) LA-15 constituency.


AJK: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate, Sardar Ziaul Qamar, secured victory in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) LA-15, according to unofficial results.
PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were among the contenders for the seat, which became vacant after the disqualification of Ilyas due to contempt charges.
After the counting of 189 polling stations, Qamar is leading with 25,755 votes, surpassing PML-N's Mushtaq Minhas, who has garnered 20,485 votes so far.
A total of 18 candidates participated in the election, including Colonel (Retd) Zamir from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and others.
The constituency has 101,145 registered voters, with 53,107 male voters and 48,038 female voters.
PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari extended his congratulations to PPP candidate Qamar for his victory in the LA-15 by-election in Bagh, AJK.
Zardari expressed gratitude to the people of AJK for placing their trust in the PPP.
